FAQs

Zebra Demarcation Caps

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), a thermoplastic polymer that is known for it’s strength and high impact resistance. We also add a UV stabiliser during production.
Our caps are designed in Australia, and are also Australian made in WA.
It depends on where they are being used, but as an example if used continuously in the harsh Pilbarra Region of WA with a very high UV count, the caps will need to be replaced approximately every two years.
Yes, the caps are fully recyclable.
Yes – the Zebra Caps have two built in clips on their body to attach barrier mesh, bunting, ribbon, rope etc. They also have a template of holes designed to easily attach signs, reflectors and lights using simple clips.

The cap come in 2 sections – Top and Bottom. These sections simply push together to form extra length to the cap as required.

Each section of the cap can be custom made to produce a huge range of colour combinations and lengths. For example a 3 section cap may be Pink/Black/Pink or Blue/White Blue. A 5 section cap may be Red/Yellow/Blue/White/Black.

Generally, we manufacture to order, with Minimum order quantities of 500 per section, per colour. We do however keep some of the most popular colours in stock so always best just to contact us to check on availability.

Yes, they will wash easily and can be used over and over if their condition allows.
They are packed into cartons (600mm x 550mm x 450mm) with a weight of approx. 15kg per carton. Cartons can be shrink wrapped onto pallets if required.

The Shelter

The Shelter is made from Australian manufactured steel AS/NZ 1163 C350L0. The tubes are 400mm NB x 2.3mm wall thickness in an algal finish.

It is 1.9m high to top of the upright legs. If wheels are added, then this increases overall height by an additional 260mm.
A Steel bracing kit is available which is attached to the structure. And also anchored into the ground using screw-in anchor pins. This kit is available as an optional extra if contemplating strong windy conditions.
We recommend all joint screws and fixings to be checked and tightened before use and after any movement.
Yes – upon request at time of order, the shade material can be replaced with a PVC coated, rain proof material for a marginal extra cost.
Yes – by rolling the shade material onto its supporting horizontal steel tube, and the reattaching the tube higher up the structure legs. This offers versatility in determining how much shade material is required on either side of the structure.
We supply quality, strong 200mm rubber castor wheels with brakes. These are designed to cope with rough terrain and can be easily fitted to the bottom of each leg.

No – wheels are an optional extra. The standard The Shelter comes with detachable feet which can be anchored directly to the ground for more stability.

We recommended two people to erect The Shelter.

Signs

Yes – signs can be made to order to suit your requirements.
The signs will be manufactured using quality materials to suit your specification and application. There are many substrates available to be used specifically to your requirements and environment.
Yes, all signs are manufactured to offer long lasting life in the Australian outdoors.
Yes, posts can be installed on Steel Pickets, FRP (Fibreglass reinforced pickets) – and easily attached to our Zebra Demarcation Caps with holes pre-drilled if required.
We can also supply Round or rectangular tube in Steel or Fibreglass, plus fitting to suit.
Our signs are manufactured to suit our harsh Australian conditions. We use a quality 7 year laminate face on our of our signs.
Yes – our signs are manufactured using quality Australian materials, and are also Main Roads WA approved.

FRP Safe Pickets

Yes – they are made from Fibreglass reinforced resin and formed by extrusion for intense density and can be installed with a standard star picket driver or a pneumatic driver.

They are not 100% fire proof, but will not melt like plastic. The heat breakdown process is very slow.

Yes, they will not rot or decay and totally resistant to termites and ants.
The Safe Pickets conduct less heat then steel and are handleable in bare hands even after long periods in direct sun.
Yes, they are strong and durable and easy to clean, and can be used many times over.
No, they are completely non conductive and no risk of electrocution.
They are more than half the weight of a steel picket, and yet very strong.
No, unlike steel they will breakdown under high pressure without damage to crusher plates. This is a critical consideration given the cost and expense of fixing a damaged crusher plate should a picket accidentally make its way in there.
They come in bundles of 10.
The two standard sizes are 1.8m and 1.65, but can be easily cut down if shorter lengths are needed.
They can be manufactured to order from our mill in any colour, noting that Minimum Order Quantities will apply.
The most recommended method is a pneumatic driver. If using a hand held mallet, the top may fray upon impact in not hit squarely (but will not leave sharp/jagged edges like steel).
